Festivals around Kaohsiung

I looked up the Cultural -> Festivals menu on the Kaohsiung website and I find that the main festivals for April are the Tomb Sweeping Day when people venerate their ancestors and sweep their tombs and Breeding season of monkeys on Mt.Chaishan. Now the Tomb Sweeping Day I can see as perhaps an interesting cultural insight. I 'm a bit less enthusiatic about the monkeys and their breeding.
